missing item in inventory - Guild Wars Forums

so, today i logged onto one of my main characters. she was still wearing her lion mask from new year, but when i went to put her pretty black bandana back on i noticed it was gone. she was wearing it before canthan new year and all i did was switch it with the lion mask during one of the festivals. i never put the bandana in storage, never sold anything to merchants, never traded anything with other players or anything like that but for some reason my bandana is completely gone. and yes, i did search every little inventory slot to see if it was hiding since black bandanas look invisible in there. and i did go through all my other characters and storage too. i just don't get it, why would just my bandana go missing?

i know anet probably won't help me but it really sucks when they cost 10k plus cloth, plus the black dye. i'll have to come up with nearly 20k all over again to get her back to the way she was.

is there anything i can do or am i just basically screwed?

look harder. other then that there is nothing you can do but farm for 30 min and buy a new one.

items don't just disappear so u either sold it,trade,merched,deleted,droped while in explorable area,salvaged or u have a friend,brother, sister... who entered in your account and did something with it,other than that i don't see how u could have lost it

Just a tip, its really hard to see black bandanas in your invent

go to some place with snow and look again

this happened to me for about 1?? year ago. i had a elite paragon tome that just vanished, never to be found again.

put pointer over every slot in your bags / inventory and look for description to pop up

I lose my sandels all the time

unfortunately i tried all of those things. i kept trying to tell myself that i just didn't see the bandana because, yes, it does disappear in the inventory slots but it just wasn't there. i live alone and no one else has my account info, so i know someone else couldn't have done anything to it. i've played this game for nearly 4 years and this has never happened to me before. i probably would have told someone else it was impossible too but it sure did happen to me. i mean ALL i did with this character is take her to shing jea (wearing her bandana), got her a lion mask from the hat maker and put it on (bandana is now in my inventory at this point), dance around during the festival, then log out when it's over. then i log back onto her again today, she's still in shing jea wearing her mask, but the bandana's gone from her inventory. i still had fireworks, crates and the second lion mask received during the festival. i had never even took her to storage.

ugh, it sucks but i guess i'll just have to buy another one

Odd thing - I noticed something funny like this happened at the final 12:01am event. I got all my stuff, merged the items from two accounts to my main, burned tokens/emptied red bags, deleted the lion helms (already festival hat ready for 10g), and logged.

Next day, my main had a lion helm in inventory and some red bags. Seemed kinda odd, but I figured, wtf.
